Advice for Consumers from the FTC

How can you avoid turning credit repair into credit despair? Here are a few suggestions:

1.Avoid any company that wants you to pay for credit repair services before they provide any services. It is against the law.

2.Avoid any credit repair company that will not tell you your legal rights and what you can do, yourself, for free.

3.Avoid any credit repair company that tells you not to contact a credit reporting company directly.

4.Avoid any credit repair company that advises you to dispute all of the information in your credit report.

5.Avoid any company that suggests creating a “new” credit identity – and then, a new credit report – by applying for an Employer Identification Number to use instead of your Social Security number. That is against the law. If you follow illegal advice and commit fraud, you also may be subject to prosecution.

Credit Repair can be done legally. Our experts work with you and review each trade line regardless of open or closed status and determine if the information shown on the credit reports is correct. We then work with the three major credit bureaus on your behalf to correct any and all inaccurate information.
The credit bureaus keep all of my information up-to-date. Why do I need your service?
The credit bureaus only report what is being sent to them by your creditors.

If your creditors report you late when you're not, or report duplicate and triplicate accounts, the bureaus will never know the difference. If there's information that doesn't belong to you on your report, the bureaus will never know that either. Plus, there is the possibility that outdated information may still be in the bureaus database and wouldn't be removed from your file unless they are instructed to do so.

Remember, there are millions of Americans in their databases so the possibility of everyone having accurate information on their credit reports is very slim. The bureaus don't know you or your financial situation, all you are is information in their database.

Our expert consultants realize that you are an individual with specific needs, and we will work for you to get your credit scores where they belong.
